UPDATE 13th Sept 2011(see original story below)
Well the run is complete. As you can see the target has been all but reached. Yes it was far harder than I thought. Yes most of my muscles are still hurting. Yes I am still as stiff as a board. Yes I would do it all again tomorrow. For those of you who want to know my time, it was 1hr 31mins and 4seconds. I knocked more than 10 minutes of my best 10 mile run to date, over very, very hilly terrain. Thank you for the support and the help needed to make me achieve this. I owe you all a big thank you. Let's get together and raise a glass at the Bolton Beer Festival. (More details to follow)
On the day we saw Paras with prosthetic limbs and competitors like us running for loved ones lost. If you have not got around to it could I ask you to please dig deep and donate now. I have included some links below to some of the media coverage;

My initial story;
Conrad became the 353rd UK soldier killed on active service in Afghanistan in February. He was my godson. Conrad, Jordan, Siobhan, Lucy & Charlotte shared the good times together on holiday each year.
After Conrad's death Tony, Sandra, Jordan & Siobhan received moral support naturally from those of us who love them and The Parachute Regiment, but also from a Charity. www.afghanistantrust.org
To raise money to fund the work the Charity does I have decided to attempt to run the 10 mile training course used by The Paras. www.paras10.com . The run will be held on Sunday 11th September 2011.
