We fund biomedical research into ME to create a strategy for cure/treatment

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

My nephew is a bright, thoughtful and highly intelligent teenager. A few years ago he developed M.E. It took over his life. He loved the outdoors and was very active. With it he was unable to attend school or do many things a lad of his age does. My sister gave up her career as a teacher to look after him. For every expenditure of energy there is a cost. Initially this meant several " crashes" .

His family and him have learnt to control the crashes. Years of trial and error and support from the current research has slowly helped. He has a remarkable resilience and has developed a variety of interests and hobbies. He is currently into architecture.

M.E. is often misunderstood and mis-diagnosed. We do not understand what causes it or how to cure it. Money is needed for the crucial research to fill in the gaps and hopefully one day we will prevent other people developing it.
