Dear Supporter
JOIN IN THE FUN: MAKE A DONATION TODAY AND AUTOMATICALLY QUALIFY FOR WORLD CUP RAFFLE TICKETS AND HELP FUND BRAIN TUMOUR RESEARCH
I’m supporting Brain Tumour Research’s fantastic World Cup fundraising campaign Game On! because I lost my husband, Emlyn Hughes, to a brain tumour in 2004. He was just 57.
I’m asking you all to please make a donation today on my JustGiving page and in doing so enter in the charity’s Game On! raffle. Please uncheck the Gift Aid box and send us an email when you've donated (see more below).
The fantastic first prize is a pair of signed Men's and Women's England Team Football shirts (one of each, signed by each team).
Second prize: Football Shirt Signed by England Team Captain Steven Gerrard.
Third prize: £250 John Lewis Vouchers
Tickets are £1.00 each. It only takes a few minutes to make a donation and fill out the relevant details here, and don’t delay as the closing date for the raffle is Saturday 14th June!
In order to qualify for the raffle prize draw via this page, a minimum donation of £1.00 per ticket is required on this page. Any donations received after the closing date will be treated as donations to the charity. Donors are also required to provide their name and email address (as a minimum amount of personal information). Any payments made by Anonymous donors will again be treated as donations to the charity. Please note – we cannot claim Gift Aid for any donations made to buy raffle tickets, so please un-check the Gift Aid box.
Once you’ve made your donation, please also email Sharon@braintumourresearch.org to confirm your name and donation amount. The charity will then add your ticket stub/s into the hat for the raffle prize draw which will take place at 2pm on 24th June 2014 at the charity’s offices in Buckinghamshire.
Emlyn Hughes
Emlyn was known to millions in the 70s as the Captain of England and Liverpool FC and, of course, from his time as one of the Captains on BBC TV’s A Question of Sport. To me he was just Emlyn, a beloved husband, father and grandfather; passionate about family and life in general. It seems like yesterday that he was looking me in the eye saying, “We’ve had a lovely life haven’t we?”
When Emlyn was ill he was convinced he would get better. Sadly this wasn’t to be the case but, a decade later, I cannot believe that such painfully slow progress has been made towards a cure for brain tumours.
Brain Tumour Research has done an amazing job since they started in 2009 and they are dedicated to funding sustainable research. We desperately need this if we are to improve patient outcomes and ultimately find a cure for brain tumours.
I am supporting the charity’s World Cup fundraising promotion, Host for Hope: Game On! and the team has worked really hard to bring you some top quality fundraising materials including sweepstakes and quizzes.
I really hope each and every one of you will kick off the World Cup with some fantastic football fundraising action. You can find out more on www.myhostforhope.com.
Brain tumours are responsible for more years of life lost than any other cancer.
Will you help me to save lives?
It’s Game On time. Let’s raise a million to help feed vital research – that’s a great goal!
Please join me and help fund the fight.
