Story
The Pied Piper Appeal was founded in 1992 by local hairdresser Peter Hickman and £4 million was pledged to build a new Children's Centre at Gloucestershire Royal Hospital. The money was quickly raised with the centre opening in 2004. Since then, The Pied Piper Appeal have continued to fund the Children's Centre along with supporting SEND Schools with equipment and resources, Sending children with life-limiting illnesses and their families on memory making Wish Holidays, and improving children's experience with Mental Health facilities.
As Cheltenham's ethical Recruitment Agency, Hooray is passionate about making a positive impact on people. We strongly believe that businesses, as well as non-profit making organisations, can be a force for good for the Gloucestershire community.
We want to support the Pied Piper appeal a charity that helps to make a difference to the lives of sick and disabled children in the county. We are hoping to raise money to fund medical and practical equipment that enhances care and treatment for children in hospitals and in the special schools in Gloucestershire.
The money raised will also be used to send children with life-limiting illnesses and their families on Wish Holidays, support the ever-growing mental health care in Gloucestershire and fund £10,000 worth of nursing training for the pediatric nurses in the County to ensure that the children get the most up to date care possible.
At Hooray recruitment we have made a commitment to be one of the 30 for 30 local Companies to fundraise for this amazing cause. The Pied Piper Appeal is a charity close to our hearts and with whom we have a long-standing connection. That's why we wanted to come together and be a part of the 'super group' of local businesses to make a pledge to raise £3,500 and celebrate 30 years of Pied Piper to make a difference to the sick and disabled children in Gloucestershire.
In an attempt to raise money for vital funding as a team we will be hosting a variety of different fundraising events and sponsorship including; A Pub Quiz Night, Art exhibition and auction, a 10k sponsored run and some other fundraising activities you'll have to stay tuned for.
So what will the money raise go towards?
Each business gets to choose where the money is used. As you can imagine there's lots of equipment and support needed and this kind of special equipment and bespoke support isn't cheap.
