Story
Some of you many know that my father passed away very suddenly last year to Cancer. Yesterday would have been his 70th Birthday. Not a day goes by that we don’t all think about him and miss him every single day.
He was the most amazing father, and grandad anyone could have ever asked for. With the kindest, biggest heart. And the most infectious smile.
I have so many precious memories of walking on the South Downs with my Dad, from a very young age...right up to when he passed away. But never did we walk quite this far...so this will most certainly be a challenge!!!
Though he was very well looked after at Worthing Hospital, my father was unfortunately diagnosed at a very late stage, and was too unwell to be moved so didn’t make it to St Barnabas in time.
A good friend of mine sadly lost her mother to a long battle with cancer, and we will be walking this together.
Even the smallest donation would make such a difference....
- £35 will allow a patient to enjoy a bath in one of our fully assisted bathrooms.
- £181 will provide for a whole night’s care for a patient, allowing their carer to benefit from a good night’s sleep
- £250 will allow us to hold a social evening for bereaved clients allowing them to gain support from their peers and meet with others who have suffered a loss.
- £329 will pay for a full 24 hours of hospice at home for a local person.
- £625 will fund the cost of a 24 hour stay at the In-Patient Unit for a patient.
I know I have asked for your kind donations before, but any donation would be absolutely amazing, like I said even the smallest donation would make such a difference to St Barnabas.
I will be looking forward to a glass (or 3) of bubbly at the finish line!!!
