As many of you know I am not a natural runner or athlete but I am willing to attempt the Bath half for some very good friends daughter, Olivia Kershaw. She is just over a year old and struggling. She was infected with a parasite before she was born, the chances of this happening are 1:100,000. The parasite caused inflammation in her brain and eyes. As a result of three months of intensive care, three brain operations and a long list of other procedures Olivia has cerebral palsy, epilepsy, blindness and other afflictions.

Twenty of us who grew up together in and around Bath are therefore running the Bath Half in order to raise money for Helen House, a charity that provides palliative care for terminally ill children and that has agreed to take on Olivia. Together we aim to raise an ambitious £21k for such a deserving charity.
