Story

Alzheimer’s Society is transforming the landscape of dementia forever.Until the day we find a cure, we will create a society where those affected by dementia are supported and accepted, able to live in their community without fear or prejudice.

My wonderful Nana, Joyce Brier, was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s in 2019 & watching her decline has been very sad to witness, particularly most recently (April 2023) with Nana hospitalised and currently very unwell.

I’ve signed up to take part in Trek 26 - where I will be trekking 26 miles across the Peak District, which, although will be tough, is nothing compared to the struggles that people with Alzheimer’s & Dementia etc face every single day.

There is currently no cure for Alzheimer’s so I’m trying to do my bit to raise awareness & some money for the Alzheimer’s Society & also as a massive thank you for everything they do.

Thank you for reading & if you would like to donate, anything you can contribute would be massively appreciated. I know times are incredibly hard at the moment.

Love, Holly

Xx

At Alzheimer’s Society we’re working towards a world where dementia no longer devastates lives. We do this by giving help to those living with dementia today, and providing hope for the future by campaigning to make dementia the priority it should be and funding groundbreaking research.
