Story

Hetal Patel tragically passed away suddenly and unexpectedly in October last year. I have had the greatest honour and luck a person could possibly have by being with and knowing Het intimately for all of his adult years. We have loved and supported one another every day for the past 19 years, which were absolutely incredible.

Het gave his time and resources so generously to those in his life, and in particular, loved spending time with the children in our lives. The special time he had with our amazing nieces, nephews and godson was magical, and they all adored him, as he did them.

Het's kind heart extended much further, as he also gave to children around the world and wanted to help create a better future for those less fortunate. He supported a charity called 'Kiva', that helps struggling families to support their children. The value of education as a way to help alleviate poverty for generations is something Het believed very strongly in, and as such, Het funded education for children in India. Additionally, the charity ‘Save the Children’ was one Het supported for many years, and was close to his heart for the incredible work they do in so many countries around the world.

Het touched the lives of everyone who met him and also so many around the world who had not. If you would like to help Het in continuing to make a positive impact on the lives of children around the world, you can make a donation on this page to Save the ChildrenThrough these donations, no matter how small, Het can continue to make a difference to so many, as he would wish to do.

Het is and will always be sorely missed. He was simply extraordinary, a rare kind of gentleman with the most beautiful loving soul. Het will be remembered for so many amazing qualities, especially his generosity, humour, warmth, intelligence and quick wit. He will continue to live on in our hearts and through the work of helping others, which was a huge part of who he was and what he believed in. Thank you.
