Story
Hi, I'm Liam, and on the 26th September, I'll be taking on a 27km (around 17 miles!) hike through the Lincolnshire Wolds to raise money for Help for Heroes.
A bit about me:
If you didn't already know, I look after marketing for Ramco (UK) Ltd, based in Skegness. In 2025 (as the MoD's official reseller of military clothing and equipment), Ramco launched Operation Upcycle to turn surplus military textiles into sustainable fashion products whilst supporting skills, education and employment in the UK.
Operation Upcycle is a national initiative bringing together Ramco, student designers, UK-based manufacturers, military textile specialists, His Majesty’s Prison Service, and Help for Heroes to create a circular fashion model that benefits people, the planet, and our Armed Forces community.
Having Help for Heroes join as our charity partner is one of our proudest achievements yet. And it's through my involvement in launching and growing Operation Upcycle that I've learned about and seen firsthand the vital support Help for Heroes provides to veterans and their families, and the positive impact it has.
Transitioning back to civilian life after service is far from straightforward. For some veterans and their families, the challenges can continue long after leaving the Armed Forces - whether that’s adjusting to a new way of life, finding employment, managing mental or physical health, rebuilding confidence, or simply finding a new sense of purpose and belonging.
That’s something I’ve come to understand much more through my work with Help for Heroes, and it’s a big part of why I think what they do is so important.
Inspired by that, I wanted to do something personally to support the charity. Every donation will help Help for Heroes continue supporting veterans and their families to live well after service.
Thank you for your support! 😊
