Story
Hendstock is a festival in memory of our friend Ian Hendry
who died suddenly after contracting meningitis. Ian was a great friend, our best man when we got married and Godfather to our son
After he died, we decided to hold an annual party for him on
the nearest Saturday to his birthday.
This will be the 10th year we have held Hendstock, obviously Covid has impacted dates, acts and attendance so this year is a bit of an unknown.
The deal is this;
We tidy up the garden, build a stage, hire toilets (thanks toilet sponsors Jon & Danielle), put up marquees, install lights and set up a PA put up some bunting. People turn up with a picnic, something to sit on and drinks.
We have 2 food trucks booked. Pizzas from Lols and Waffles from Waffle+co. Wyldesky are providing a beer bar.
We’ve currently got 12 acts ranging from young children getting up on stage for the very first time to Linton's premier dad band; more acts are being confirmed daily.
Last time we had over 400 people and raised over £4,000 for
Meningitis Now (a uk charity). We appreciate things have been difficult for a lot of people this year so have set a much lower target (£1,500).
So if you knew Ian or you know us we'd love to see you and
if you can't make it then any donations would really help.
This is the sort of thing that happens
