Story
I am running the BM10k to raise money for the Maternity and Neonatal units in Haiti, in memory of Noah.
In September 2017, I had the privilege of visiting Haiti on a volunteer trip with Hope Health Action (HHA). During my time there, I helped create a sensory garden for children with disabilities. It was physically challenging work but I was also able to spend quality time with the children, which made it an incredibly heart-warming experience.
HHA is a fantastic charity, providing life-saving healthcare to vulnerable adults and children in Haiti, Uganda and South Sudan. On 29th March 2019, Carwyn Hill, one of the co-founders of HHA, and his wife Reninca, tragically and unexpectedly lost their 11-week-old son, Noah. I was deeply saddened to hear about the loss of baby Noah, particularly as they have dedicated their lives to improving healthcare in the world's poorest countries.
I will be completing the BM10k on 11th October 2020 (postponed from April due to COVID-19) alongside my parents and my boyfriend, to raise money for 'Noah's Fund' in his memory. All donations will go directly to HHA to develop their Infant and Maternity units.
