Story
So, here it is, my 2021 challenge to myself and raising funds for Blackpool Carers Centre:
Friday 10 September – 15km run
Saturday 11 September – 2.5km swim (possibly 3 or 3.5km depending on time…)
Sunday 12 September – 30km bike
I know some people do a triathlon in one go but I am not one of those people!
For the past 11 years I have worked for Blackpool Carers Centre. We support carers of all ages and most of my work has been supporting people caring for someone with dementia. People who have been married for 60 years who no longer recognise their partner. People who are trying to juggle work, children and caring for an older parent or grandparent. People who have young onset dementia, diagnosed in their 50s or 60s who have to give up work and driving when they still have mortgages to pay. It has been a privilege to support people and be allowed into their lives when they are vulnerable.
So, if you feel able to sponsor and support me, I will be eternally grateful. Your generosity will help us to keep providing much needed practical and emotional support as well as activities to give carers a break.
Thank you – wish me luck!
