Story
Thank you for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page!
On April 22nd, 2017, I will be wing-walking to raise money in memory of my father-in-law, Ian Webster who lost his short battle with cancer on September 3rd 2016. Ian was a military man; an Officer, and an astounding athlete - courageous in life just as he was courageous in his final days - and so, strapping myself to the wing of a plane seemed a fitting tribute to such a brave man!
I have self-funded the cost of the wing-walk, which means that every penny raised here will be donated to the Pilgrims Hospice. The care and comfort provided by the wonderful, dedicated staff at the Canterbury Hospice afforded our family precious time with Ian when it was needed the most. And therefore, in respect of the continued battle with life limiting illnesses that many others face, I want to raise as much money as possible, to contribute toward the ongoing care of both inpatients and day patients at the local Hospice, and the support of the families also affected, just as our family have been supported recently.
'Pilgrims' run three Hospices across Kent, each providing entirely free-of-charge care for those who need it, and they rely on fundraisers such as myself for 75% of their funding! This is why your sponsorship is so very important! So, please - dig as deep as you can!
- Just £10 can pay for a patients meals for a day,
- £35 could pay for therapy session for a patient or carer,
- £50 can pay for essential nursing supplies,
- £475 could provide a nurse for an entire week.
:o)
My initial aim was to raise £1000 for Pilgrims Hospice, BUT LET'S KEEP GOING! I am so so grateful to anyone who can sponsor me - no matter how great your donation - as long as it helps me smash my original goal.
Thank you thank you thank you - from the bottom of my heart! x
