Fundraising for Multiple Sclerosis Trust (MS Trust)
Fundraising for Multiple Sclerosis Trust (MS Trust)
We do this challenge as our family has been deeply impacted by living with Multiple Sclerosis.
Our dad and so our mum have lived with this disease since we were teenagers.
At the heart of this and what we want to share is really a good old fashioned story about what love really is.
For it shows us what true love and courage really look like and what is more powerful and wonderful than that?
We celebrated their 50th Wedding Anniversary earlier this year and here they are that day, in the photo with grandchildren Amelie and Felix.
Love is then really generous, it is also about being patient and being kind. It is also giving up things that you may wish to do but simply cannot. Having to put someone's needs before you own. Having to rely on one another and to also love encourages you to dig really deep, when you are already exhausted.
Let us not forget that love at it's very best is also on display here and this is felt so much more when we are laughing together, sharing memories and creating new ones. It is also about being and feeling connected to one another and to this end we have enjoyed doing a family quiz 'together' in lock down, every Sunday evening.
Love is though also about just finding the strength to to keep going each day, even when that may be painful, very depressing or mentally a really big challenge.
For our parents life has become much more challenging in the recent years, as dad is not mostly bed bound. This impacts on how they are able to live and what they can do day to day.
Our goal then is that we will still run this 10K together, on what should have been the Asics 10k challenge day. Depending on the situation we may be physically together (fingers crossed), or running it independently.
We totally understand that life is tough for many right now and that it will no doubt be very challenging going forward.
However if you can spare a few pounds to help us to raise money for the MS Trust, who like many charities are struggling, then that would be great.
They provide advice and support and are there for people when things get to be really tough going and for that we are all very grateful.
Thank you for reading our story and keep safe and well
With love Ian & Helen xxx
