Story
I believe in the power of sport to change lives. I wouldn't be the person I am today if I hadn't discovered a love of sport, aged 11, encouraged and supported by a brilliant PE teacher.
In my role as CEO at Access Sport, I am now privileged to hear, every day, from parents, coaches and volunteers about the transformative impact of sport on the young people they support.
Unfortunately, the less advantaged and disabled children and young people we support are the least likely to be active, despite having the most to gain from access to sport, including improved physical and mental health, life skills/ prospects, community or a sense of belonging.
This is why I am running to raise awareness and funds to support Access Sport's work to make inclusion the norm in community sport.
When I ran the London half in March I promised that, if I raised over £1000 I would commit to running a half marathon in each of the city's we are based in. So my next stop is Bristol, where we have been working since we were established in 2004.
We have an amazing network of clubs, partner organisations and supporters in the city and have developed 4 BMX pump tracks across the city, as well as driving the brilliant IGNITE Bristol, a network of clubs and organisations delivering disability inclusive sports and activity.
Please show your support for Access Sport's work by helping me to reach my new sponsorship target!!
Thank you for all your support - I can't thank you enough!
