Story
I started regular running back in 2014 thanks to the Peterborough parkrun and it soon became a habit. Having completed my 100th 5k parkrun this summer, it was time for a new challenge.
I had never run more than 10k prior to training this Summer (and only a handful of those!). However, I have treated many runners in my role as Physiotherapist at Prestons Health and thought it was about time I tried for myself.
I have found training really really hard. Properly hard. I actually can't believe how painful your muscles can get just from running longer distances each week.
I am supporting Sue Ryder (Thorpe Hall) for so many reasons. The place is so very special. My Grandfather was Physiotherapist there in its days as a Rehabilitation Centre for Peterborough and every time I step in there, I remember the great work that he did. Now it does such great work with people in need, I felt compelled to fundraise on their behalf.
I feel so very grateful that I am healthy enough to run and to explore running further and knowing I am doing it for such a worthwhile cause is pretty humbling.
Please give anything that you can. None of us know when we, a member of our family or indeed a good friend may need the help of Sue Ryder. Every donation counts.
