Story
Alzheimers/dementia wasn't something that I really knew much about until very recently. Then suddenly two of my best friends, my sis-in-law and one of my close colleagues are all dealing with the fallout of this very sad disease. We all assume that as we get older, we'll be able to look back & reminisce about all the fun & slightly mad stuff we've done but for some that just isn't possible. And it's not just the person diagnosed that is effected by the cruel deterioration - the impact on their loved ones is just huge.
So when the guys at work suggested climbing Mount Snowdon to support the Alzheimer's Society, it was an easy decision to say yes. Hopefully the money we raise between us will help with research and the support needed for the victims and their families.
I don't think it's technically climbing as no ropes or crampons will be used - I hope!, but it's still quite a challenge nonetheless. Six and a half miles in total, climbing over 700 metres up to the summit. Training is in full swing - Harley loves it but Kersh is less keen on walking uphill in the rain :o).
So please support me and donate what you can.
Thanks very much. Hels x
