After sticking with shorter distances for the last few years I find myself training for the Great North Run once again.

I am running as part of a 40 strong team of staff and students from Ponteland High School who have come together to run in memory of a recent student Rachel Blaylock who tragically died in a car accident last August. Rachel was due to take part in the 2014 GNR before beginning a new life as a university student. In agreement with Rachel's parents we have chosen to raise money for the Great North Air Ambulance. The Air Ambulance also had a significant involvement in the tragedy of another former student and her father Victoria Wilkinson on Kielder Water, both of whom sadly lost their lives. We would all like to think that the Great North Air Ambulance would be there for us, family and friends should they ever need it, so we want to raise a target of £10,000 between us.
