I am part of the team of crew, family and friends of Newhaven Lifeboat that will be taking part in a walk along a stretch of the South Downs Way from Ditchling Beacon to Firle Beacon, some 16 miles.

One of my friends and a member of the crew, Gavin Butcher, has recently been diagnosed with terminal cancer. This is an exceptionally hard time for Gavin and his wife and 3 young children. Macmillan have given them tremendous support, advice and guidance helping to make this difficult situation just a little bit easier.
