My story

Thank you for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

As most of you know my Grandma passed away on Boxing Day 2011 after a brave fight against cancer. The last 10 days of her life were spent in Katharine House where she was cared for in the most extraordinary way by the staff of Katharine House Hospice Stafford. They're there not just for the patients but the whole family and not just in the short term. Work of this kind needs constant support and I immediately felt I wanted to do something in return and in memory of my Grandma.

Although i have ran Silverstone before this is still a challenge and my aim is to do it quicker than 1hr 57minutes which is what i completed it in 2 years ago.

If my run captures your imagination and you think it is worthy of a donation to help Katharine House continue their amazing work please spare whatever you can.

This is a tribute to my Grandma who was there for me through everything until she passed away, she also doted on my 2 children her Great Grandchildren Owen and Leah and when she realised time was not on her side apologised to me for not seeing them grow up! This is also tribute to all the remarkable people who work in hospices everywhere. They are very special people indeed.

Thank you again for taking the time to read my page.

Health and happiness to all

Helen
