Story
5th May 2012. Thank you for your amazing support. You have given our family so much comfort over the last few weeks. This is the poem I wrote for our baby Luna after she died. I read it at her funeral service on the 3rd May. Clint x
Shine On Luna Bliss
Turn left at the butterflies
Pass the rabbit as you go
Where a multitude of colours
Will embrace you like a rainbow
A world of faith, a world of hope
A world of colours never seen
A world of joy, a world of Love
And eternal moonlight dreams
Shine On Luna Bliss
As I fell into your Universe eyes
And you into mine
In your final moments here
I desired only one thing
To come with you
And be by your side
For all time
As my whispers warmed your head
And my tears washed your face
I fought so hard to keep you here
And you fought hard to stay
Shine On Luna Bliss
I don't know what's out there
My little one
But I do know this
It'll be a far better place
For having you there
As this place you leave today
Is even more wonderful
For having had you here
Just for these few short moments
Which were so, so brief
Like a single beat of a butterfly's wing
Shine On Luna Bliss
To me
For all time
You will remain
A symbol for all that is pure
All that is good
And all that is loved
Untouched
Your colours will remain
Embracing this world
For our forever
So take your tiny hand now
From mine
And go gently, sweet thing
Turn left at the butterflies
Pass the rabbit as you go
Where a multitude of colours
Will embrace you like a rainbow
A world of faith, a world of hope
A world of colours never seen
A world of joy, a world of Love
And eternal moonlight dreams
And I'll be right there with you
My precious child
I'll be with you...
In a single beat of a butterfly's wing
Shine On Luna Bliss
All my love forever. Your Dad.

5th April 2012. Our little boy, Hector Angel Boon (5) has never had a haircut. He has the most beautiful long golden wavy hair.
His mummy recently gave birth to his baby sister, Luna Bliss, 3 months prematurely at St Mary's Hospital in Manchester. The hospital is amazing and the staff who look after the babies in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) are the most wonderful people in the world,
They encourage and help mummies of premature babies to do a thing called 'kangaroo care' which is where the tiny baby gets to spend an hour or two lay 'skin to skin' on mummy's chest.
When Hector's mummy got to do 'kangaroo care' with baby Luna for the first time, she said "this is the best moment of my life". It was the first time she got to hold baby Luna even though it was several days after she was born.
She could have sat there forever holding our gorgeous baby to her chest but after a little while, she became really uncomfortable. She had to put baby Luna back in her special bed and didn't get to hold her again for two more days.
Hector's mummy said how nice it would have been to have a really comfy chair in the ward for mummies who need to do kangaroo care with their little babies. The kind of chair that breastfeeding mummies also like to use.
Hector has decided that he wants to raise money to buy some special nursing chairs for the NICU wards by having his haircut and getting people to donate money.
Hector will get his haircut at 11am on Saturday 14th April and we'll take photographs of this special moment. You'll be the first to see the pictures.
All the money raised will be used to buy nursing chairs for the mummies in the NICU wards and (if Hector raises enough money) things for children visiting the NICU to play on (like DS game consoles) while they wait for their baby brothers or sisters to get big enough and well enough to come home.
Thank you for helping Hector, the NICU babies and their mummies.
All our love, the Boon Family xxx
