Thank you so much for joining my page.
Running the London Marathon has always been something I have wanted to take part in and I am super excited and proud that this year I will be taking on the challenge.
I have chosen to run the London Marathon for a charity which is extremely relevant and present in my life along with a lot of other people's.
Mental health has played a big role in my life growing up with my mum who has had a long and challenging battle with depression. I have seen the effects a mental health illness can have on someone you know and love dearly, it is challenging for everyone involved, let alone for the person dealing with it first hand. I am so grateful that discussions around depression and anxiety have much more of a platform than they once did, however, 1 in 4 people have mental health problems, and many still don’t have the help they need. This is why I chose to fundraise for Mind to support them in their important work. Even though mental health difficulties in all forms are much more accepted today, the pressures of society are more present than ever and we truly never know what people are going through. Mind promote awareness and assist with difficult conversations around mental health as well as supporting people and their families who are suffering.
Mind are a charity who offer help whenever you might need it through their relevant and current information, advice and access to local services. They help relieve the pressures that come with mental illness and make it less lonely. They empower people to understand their mental health and the choices available to them. As well as this, they focus on friends and family by providing them with support and guidance.
I am sure some aspects of this will be relevant to you or someone in your life so any donation big or small would be greatly appreciated. The price of a pint can go towards making a big difference in someone's life!
Training is fully in progress and I will see you at the finish line! Thank you so so much for your support
