Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page. All money raised goes into finding a cure for Crohn's Disease which I've suffered from since 2004. A chronic incurable and sometimes life threatening disease that needs more awareness creating and funds raised to help find a cure. In December 2008 after already having two life threatening episodes I opted to have all of my large intestine removed and also my rectum and anus closed. Everything was taken and sewn up, a stoma called an ileostomy was formed on the right side of my stomach ( this is actually the end of my small intestine sticking outside of my body by about an inch) I have to attach a bag to collect the waste and empty it regularly. Life improved after this surgery but other complications have meant that in 2013 further surgery for hernias that had formed under my stoma and belly button. These had resulted in me being reduced to liquidised for for nine months as solids would become trapped and cause horrific pain. I now have yet another hernia causing similar symptoms which they do not want to operate on. The struggle and pain although different from what I started out with are still tough and ongoing.
