Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page. The British Heart Foundation is of course a very worthwhile cause and I am very grateful for any donations made via this webpage.

When my brother (Al) persuaded me to join his team earlier this year, I thought what a great idea, imagining what a fantastic time I was going to have 'training' while enjoying sunny spring mornings and long, warm summer evenings in Richmond Park and along the Thames. And finally an excuse for a new bike!

Unfortunately and foolishly I forgot to take into account the Great British Weather ... every Thursday morning I return home soaked through, very very muddy and sometimes a little p*ssed off when I think of all the other, warmer and drier things I could have been doing in the precious time that Ben is at playgroup. As for the idyllic warm evenings, they have yet to make an appearance...And now Al says I'm not looking after my new bike properly, apparently all the mud and rainwater is bad for it, it needs cleaning and oiling - high maintenance or what?

Oh well, I'm assured that I will enjoy the day itself, perhaps the sun will finally shine on the 17th June. Please wish me luck - it's 54 miles which may not be far for some people but it will be quite a long way for me.
