Story
Around 55,000 women are diagnosed with breast cancer in the UK every year. We are bringing attention to this figure as we need to reduce it. Meg and I are cycling 55,000 meters, walking 55,000 steps and swimming 55,000 feet by the 23rd October. Here's an even bigger challenge, we want to raise £55,000 to help Prevent Breast Cancer bring these figures down, reduce breast cancer deaths and save families from the devastation of this disease. That's 70 miles of hard work (and we both have a bad foot!), but if 55,000 people donate just £1 we've achieved our goal. Please share far and wide.
A bit about me... in 2017 I was diagnosed with Triple Negative Breast Cancer, in my 40s. After chemotherapy, surgery and radiotherapy, I enjoyed a few wonderful months, supposedly free of breast cancer. On New Year's Eve 2018, it reared its ugly head again. Further surgery, chemotherapy and many of my own strategies have ensured that I'm still here today. I have lost hair, teeth and both of my breasts to this disease and I am passionate, along with my daughter, who has also experienced breast lumps and is only 22, to raise awareness, empower women and help PBC with their goal to eradicate breast cancer for future generations.
Here are the photos of our first completed challenge. Phew! Lots of videos along the way on Facebook.
Thank you for all the donations generously being made ❤️
