Colleagues at Foxwood Academy and I are running or walking the Belvoir Challenge 2014 on March 1st. The Belvoir Challenge is a 16mile event for walkers and runners around the Vale of Belvoir and Belvoir Escarpment in north-east Leicestershire.

Later this year on the 22nd June Lee and I will be taking part in the National Three Peaks Challenge with approx 40 others. This involves climbing Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike and Snowdon all within a time limit of 24 hours.

We are raising money for Joining Jack as our close friends son (Felix) was diagnosed with  Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy. This is a serious condition and causes progressive muscle weakness, generally by the age of 8 boys are struggling to walk and a wheelchair is required Between 10 and 14.  It is life shortening, most boys with this condition only live into their 20's and suffer from heart or respiratory failure.

 We need to raise as much money as possible and as quickly as possible to fund research into treatments for duchenne to bring the drugs to clinical trial that could help Felix and other boys with DMD.  This is a race against time.  Treatments are nearly here, we need to act now.
