Dear friends,

Together we did something great!  This is to say a huge thank you to all of you for supporting Hazel's Hospice with your generous donations.  Thank you also for your moral support and your many kind inspirational messages which were very much appreciated and really helped with the training.

I have found it a very humbling experience to have contributed to such a worthy cause.    Thank you!  Thank  you! 

September 2010:    Hi !   I ran the Leeds Half-Marathon in May 2010 and the Great North Run on Sunday 19September for Hazel - in gratitude for her life,  her friendship and her work in Specialist Palliative Care at Backford Hospice, Cheshire.

Hazel was one of the most dedicated nurses any patient could wish for.  She was dearly loved by her husband Colin and by her friends and colleagues at the Hospice, where she brought so much  light, hope and love into so many people's lives.

Sister Hazel started working at Backford Hospice in 1989, where she  helped to pioneer the day-care support services.

Hazel was my best friend and she was always there for me in good times and bad.  Hazel was always the first to support me when I ran for charity and her words of encouragement will always inspire me when the going gets tough.

Thank you so much for your support and sponsorship.  Hazel would be so pleased that we are carrying on her good work.  Any donation large or small is special and very much appreciated.  It's the thought that counts. 

Please help us to continue her selfless commitment to offering the best standards of holistic care at the Hospice.
