Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page. I have decided to run the Bupa Great Manchester Run in memory of my old friend Ged. It's a last minute entry so I'm not expecting to raise loads but you could spare a pound or two to support my chosen charity, that would be great!

I've chosen to run for The Christie. I never knew just how much work The Christie did to help & support cancer patients until I had the unfortunate experience of visiting Ged in Manchester when he was poorly. Ged had suffered with cancer for several years and had visited The Christie for his treatments many times before, but when he was too ill to come home, I went to see him there. The hospital is impressive, the research they do is even more so, but the help, support & comfort they provide is simply amazing. Not only to their patients but to the patients' visitors too. 

The harsh reality is that 1 in 3 of us will be affected by cancer at some point in our lives. That worries me. But I believe that if we can raise money to support those who work tirelessly to find a cure for the cancers we may face, we too are providing hope to the thousands who are diagnosed each day.
