Story
Hello I am Luke Webber, and this is my story the past year.
Not long after I joined Barclay, I started having headaches
and problems with my vision. We saw opticians, doctors and had loads of hospital visits but no one could tell me what was wrong. My eyesight gradually got better but I found myself falling asleep at all sorts of weird times.
Fast forward to the summer and I started having really bad
headaches and also started to see two of everything. We went back to Lister and this time they were able to see that I had a brain tumour. I was rushed to Addenbrooke’s by Ambulance where I had emergency surgery via my nose to try and remove it.
My tumour is a Craniopharyngioma, a very rare benign tumour that is very hard for them to treat. I have a further operation planned in December and then I will be going to Manchester for Proton beam treatment.
We are being helped by several organisations, I would
like to raise money for Anna’s Hope who support Addenbrookes Brainbow team.
