Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Having not done any long distance running since leaving school (7 Years ago), and feeling like I needed a new challenge I signed up for the University of Manchester purple wave, as part of the Great Manchester  10km run for a bit of fun, and to see if I was actually capable of running 10 km.

I initially started with (what turned out to be) the unambitious target of 1 hour 30 minutes, but it turns out I underestimated my ability quite a bit, and after a few practice runs, I've quite enjoyed the time chasing. So my personal target is sub 50 minutes.

So what began as a bit of fun, and a personal challenge, has turned into something quite enjoyable, and it would be great if I could add a little more to the journey, by raising some money for a great charity.

Stroke is something that has affected my family, and the aftercare can be expensive, and complex, so it would be great to raise a bit so more families can access the services they need, and also for more research to be conducted.
