Story
As you are no doubt aware, we sadly lost my Father to a short battle with cancer last September. As a way of raising money for Cancer Research, I have organised a St George's Day related football match on Saturday 23rd April.
What I propose is a Whites versus Reds game - since it is St George's Day after all, in which you get to choose in the comments section of this event which colour shirt you will wear. I will, of course, be wearing white (never red!) and it doesn't matter how many people want to play - it can be more than 11-a-side and we can rotate as frequently as we want. I also propose no linesman and no limit as to how many people are on the field at any given time, just come off when you feel you need a quick breather. We can also rotate goalkeepers. I shall book a pitch for two hours, so we don't have to abide by the standard 45 minute half regulations either, it's just for fun!
In the next few weeks, I shall be drumming up interest. I have booked a pitch at Linton Village College at 2pm. For anyone who would like to take part in the fundraising but are unable to do so, I want to hold a charity bake sale at my place of work the Friday before (22nd) so please let me know via the facebook page if you'd prefer to take part in this way.

The donation I ask of everyone who takes part is just £5. Even if you can't make it that day then please feel free to donate. I'll be setting up a Just Giving page over the next week or two.
This will be a great opportunity to raise money to help combat one of the worst diseases in the world today. As we are all-too-aware, it's never easy when you lose a loved one, which is why I want to do my bit and hope you'd like to do yours too.
It's an idea I have been toying with since the summer and one that I thought would be a fantastic way to raise funds for a worthy cause and also have a great afternoon in the process.
If you know of anyone else who would like to take part, then please let me know and add them to the event. As I said earlier I will keep this page flowing with updates as and when I have any.
I really hope you can make it and help make this event a fun and successful one.
