Climbing Up for Climbing Out

Each year the Shropshire based charity Climbing Out organises a fundraising hike. The walk raises vital funds to help continue the valuable work that the charity does to support people by rebuilding confidence, self-esteem and motivation for people facing life-changing injury, illness or trauma. This year’s event is even more important as unfortunately last year’s challenge was cancelled due to covid.

Challenges so far have included climbing Snowdon, the Three Peaks Challenge, The Peak District Challenge and The North Wales Ridge Challenge. The 2021 event takes place on 9th October in North Wales, where they will be taking on the Climbing Out Snowdonia Challenge.

I will be joining the challenge this year along with a couple of friends we and will all be Climbing Up for Climbing Out. We will taking on the four-mountain hike in Snowdonia, which includes the full Llyn Idwal, Y Garn plus Elidir Fawr to Deiniolen challenge, a total of 16.5km and 928m ascent! Sadly I won’t be allowed to use his bike on this occasion!
