Brighton Marathon 2012 · 15 April 2012 ·

We’ve been providing in-depth, expert information and wide-ranging support for over 35 years, helping thousands of people affected by lymphoma. Our work drives improvements in the diagnosis, treatment, and aftercare of lymphoma.

Story

So, after taking last year out to cheer on the efforts of a Mr. James Tully and Miss Sam Reed amongst others, I have once again signed up to take on the Brighton Marathon.

26.2 miles of fun? It's the same as running from Brighton Pier to Gatwick Airport according to google maps. That stat still scares me, but I've done it before so why can't I do it again!

There's certain reasons why I'm doing this this year:

1) I have a time to beat. In 2010 I ran the course in 4 hours, 43 minutes. Not bad considering I 'forgot' to train :/  So given that I do more than 6 miles running between now and the run on April 15th I'll be dandy

2) Steve Coogan is running this year, he's my person to beat. Though i'd hate to be running alongside him with people constantly shouting 'Ahaaaa!'

3) A personal reason. I signed up in a non-charity place this year, but I have chosen to run on behalf of The Lymphoma Association this year.
My family lost a Son, Brother, Uncle and friend in Dave Peach in 2011 to Lymphatic Cancer.

"The Lymphoma Association helps people affected by lymphoma by providing essential specialist information and offering support and a listening ear to patients, their families, friends and carers. "

I felt their website would word it better than I ever could. They're a great group and helped The Peach/Phipps family through a tough 2010/11. I have no limit to hit this year, but any donations would be truely appreciated. So don't be stingy!

So yeah, Let's make this a more successful Marathon to last time!

Harry

P.S I promise that this time I won't get horribly burnt as that probably hurt more than the post-run agony I was in the following morning.
