Story
My granddad has been suffering from Alzheimer’s for the last 20 years. He’s been relatively lucky because he can still remember faces but recently names are becoming difficult.
We aren't a very quiet family and his hearing has become difficult so he now tends to get confused at big family lunches. After asking me a few times where I was living and what I was doing with my life he then went into great details of how he used to live in London as a child and how he use to travel to work. Then shortly afterwards he got himself confused again before stopping turning to me and saying that he might get confused and that living with Alzheimer’s is hard but he will never give up and he will always fight. He said that’s how he wants me to live my life.
What I love about my granddad is that he still has his sense of humour and determination even after suffering from the disease for a long time. This has made me even more determined to run the Marathon for him and other Alzheimer’s sufferers.
Thank you for taking time to visit my page and any donation is greatly appreciated. If you want to come down and cheer me on I'll love the support!
