Story
Harmeny Education Trust provides specialist education services, both on a day and all year round residential basis, for children aged 5 to 14.
As a Grant Aided Special School, Harmeny work with children and young people with complex Social Emotional and Behavioural Needs.
Harmeny continues to provide care and education throughout the coronavirus crisis.
Their priority, as always, is to support their children and protect their staff who continue to deliver compassionate care in these extraordinary times.
As for everyone, the coronavirus pandemic has been extremely challenging for Harmeny and their keyworkers who continue to go above and beyond to support each other and are committed to ensure that the children feel safe and reassured in these uncertain times.
This page is to try to raise some funds for the kids at Harmeny so they can have new games, sporting equipment and personal protective
equipment for staff who are supporting children at Harmeny with coronavirus symptoms.
£20 will help buy additional equipment for the cottage gardens
or games . This will help them stay active and having fun.
£30 covers the cost of six activity packs for each cottage to help entertain the children and engage them in home learning. This will help
them keep up with education and learn new things.
£5 covers the cost of one set of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for staff supporting a child at Harmeny who is displaying coronavirus symptoms. This will give staff confidence to look after the children without worrying about their own health.
Volunteers from Standard Life Aberdeen often go to Harmeny and around this time of year we would be having bake sales and making plans to go visit. As we cannot visit I thought the next best thing would be to have a collection and see if we can raise some funds to help the kids enjoy their summer.
Standard Life Distribution is raising money for Harmeny by taking part in the 2point6 challenge. Members from our team are taking on month long challenges ranging from walking 2.6 miles per day to committing to home work outs with more than 260 reps, to running 26 miles and cycling more than 10 miles 26 times.
