My wife, Harinder, had been suffering for many years with this condition that even baffled the medical profession.

There are many forms of fibromyalgia and very much like cancer it can spread very rapidly. As very little is known about it, there are not many treatments that can help to manage the conditions.

With Harinder, the symptoms were initially physical and she was unable to do day to day activities and soon progressed into physical and emotional turmoil, making her totally housebound. During this time, I nursed and cared for my wife, whilst trying to manage a normal family routine.

In her last few months, the physical and the emotional symptoms were such that day to day life became totally unbearable and she could see this affecting her family and loved ones.

I hope that this devastating and sudden loss can at least highlight how debilitating fibromyalgia can be and that more is recognised in treatments and support for families going forward.
