Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I lost my lovely wife, Lyn, to Pancreatic Cancer very suddenly in 2013. Pancreatic Cancer is known as the 'silent killer' because it is notoriously difficult to diagnose. We are 'driving earlier diagnosis' as this is the only way at present to improve the chances of survival.
In the summer of 2017 I attempted to drive my 1927 Morris Cowley, Happy Henry, the length and breadth of Britain in the company of my Cocker Spaniel, Paddy.
Unfortunately Happy Henry suffered a heart attack en route after some 1350 miles and he travelled home from the South Coast courtesy of the AA although our fundraising efforts took us past the original £10000 mark regardless
The car has been restored from a basketcase over the last two and a half years after lying in a barn for 35 years.
He has now had a heart transplant and once he is run in, I intend to take up where we left off and continue the trip
As a musician I will also perform gigs en route.
As a Rotarian, I hope to get assistance from fellow Rotarians and members of similar organisations around the country
Please give generously to enable survival rates from this iniquitous disease to be improved.
