Story
Hello Friend! :)
This September I am walking 8km along with my Mother Fiona in memory of my Grandmother Barbara, who passed away in January 2014.
Having to watch the woman who - next to my Mum - shaped the person I strive to be everyday; deteriorate from the once intelligent, proud and loving woman that she was; to a shell of her former self was indescribably heartbreaking. It's already devastating to suffer the loss of someone you love so dearly, without having to witness them slowly forget who you are before they pass.
I am so incredibly grateful for the memories that Grandma left me with and I'd like to honor hers by doing something to help those who are currently living with the disease and their families. To contribute to raising more awareness and lighting the way to a world without dementia.
I hope to continue to support the Alzheimer's Society further in 2016 by running the London Marathon.
I would greatly appreciate any help that you can give me in raising my target of £200 or more.
Thank you for taking the time to read my story.
