Sports Physio UKs ambition is to raise money to have a portable defibrillator that Sports Physio UK can have situated at the clinic in Shaw, and be used off site at events we attend.
Since Ashley's passing on 20th March 2004, Team Ash have been raising money in his memory. In recent years, this money has been used to donate defibrillators to schools and clubs in the local community.
Early access to a defibrillator is one of the most important factors that could save a life. It could be a teacher, coach, colleague, student, friend, relative, or a stranger - your generous donations could directly contribute towards saving a life in your local community.
At the clinic, we have 100's of patients of all ages each week. We are also situated in the centre of Shaw where a local resident collapsing, or the arrival of an ambulance is not an uncommon sight. Any of these individuals could benefit from a defibrillator at our clinic.
Sports Physio UK provide our services at local events which include - Oldham Miltown to Moors Series (includes 7k, 10k and half marathon), Rochdale 10k, and Manchester Marathon. At these events we are amongst 100's of runners and spectators - any of whome could potentially suffer a cardiac event. Hopefully it will never be needed, but having a defibrillator with us could save a life.
This money we raise could save the life of someone's son, daughter, mum, dad, relative, friend or colleague.
Any extra money raised this year will go towards donating more defibrillators to the local community.
