My Grandmother, Kathleen Preston, passed away aged 94 on 23 December 2020 (of old age) at St Mary's Hospital (Paddington). This was Grandma's local hospital and she received unrivalled care, whilst in the middle of a pandemic, from the second that she was admitted to the moment she passed. 

The doctors, nurses, and palliative care teams were always friendly, professional, and available day or night to provide us with updates and details of her care. We knew that, when she passed, she was surrounded by the best people available. 

We were lucky enough to see her before she passed, but we constantly count how lucky we were given the pandemic and how many people lost loved ones without being able to say "goodbye".
