Story
As a bonafide chocolate addict, I could be mistaken for Augustus Gloop's female counterpart. For the entirety of 2013 though, I have chosen to abstain from eating and drinking chocolate, this includes any food that contains cocoa powder/butter and so far has caused some less than dignified scraping of icing and garnishes from many tasty treats (I for one never knew the brown icing on a bakewell tart included cocoa powder until I took up this challenge)
But I didn't just decide to do this to prove that I could, I decided to take this opportunity to raise money for a charity that is very important to me. Alzheimer's affects so many families and I'm glad that I can do this one small thing to raise what little I can for such a brilliant charity. The Alzheimer's society does so much for those suffering from Dementia and their families and I wanted to be involved in the great work they are doing in whatever way I could.
I took my time setting up this page because I didn't want people to donate and then wonder if I'd just pack it all in the next week for a clandestine encounter with a bar of Dairy Milk, but now that I'm heading into month 12 I think there are more than a few people who can vouch for the fact that I've taken this challenge seriously and intend to do so until New Years Day. (For the record, the last piece of chocolate I ate was a mini-roll at approximately 10.40pm on December 31st 2012 but I'm holding out until Midnight anyway!)
