Story
We are five junior doctors working at Frimley Park Hospital. On 31st July we will be attempting the inaugural 10 Peaks Challenge to raise money for the hospital's Cystic Fibrosis unit, The Knight Centre.
This will involve climbing the ten highest peaks in the Lake District. Assuming our map reading doesn't let us down, we'll be walking over 73 km (45 miles), with 7000 metres of ascent. That's equivalent to Everest base camp to summit. Twice. In 24 hours.
We are proud to be raising money for the Knight Foundation, a growing charity that does amazing work with patients and families living with cystic fibrosis. We have witnessed first hand not only the impact cystic fibrosis has on its sufferers and their families but also the incredible difference having a specialist unit can make in their day to day lives by offering specialist nurses, facilities and support.
Cystic fibrosis is the commonest life-threatening genetic disease in the UK. It is a devastating condition that prematurely ends many lives. With your support, and the continuing work of charities such as The Knight Foundation, new treatments are being discovered and perhaps one day a cure may even be found.
Please show your support by giving as much as you can, no matter how little, it will make a difference to lives who really need it. Thank you.
