Dearest Friends, Family and even those who have never met Katie 'Hats' Hatton,

 

My inspirationally insane housemate thinks that running the Marathon des Sables in April sounds like a good substitute for a beach holiday.

 

The 243km/151 mile race, run over six days, is the equivalent to five and a half regular marathons. Competitors have to carry everything they will need for the duration on their backs. She will experience midday temperatures of up to 120°F/52C and 15 to 20% of the race is over sand dunes.

 

She has put in an extraordinary amount of training and has an amazing capacity to push herself harder than most of us would ever wish but even so, support from you all would be greatly appreciated.

 

Rather than just ask you for your hard earned cash Katie 'no middle name' Hatton has agreed to change her name by deed poll to Katie 'Hattoff' Hatton if we can raise £1,000, so dig deep, this is a real opportunity to change someone's life FOREVER.
