Thanks for
taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I ran my first half marathon on
Sunday 24thOctober 2010 to raise money for Brain Tumour UK. I did it in a time of 2 hours 27mins, so was very pleased to do it within my aim of 2 and half hours.
Unfortunately, the week before the run my doctor told me I had iliotibial band syndrome which is a quite common running injury but it meant that I was likely to be in pain when running. I rested for the final week but was determined to finish the race and I am so pleased that I have.
I have left my JustGiving Page open as I hope that people will still donate so I can reach my target of £500 for the wonderful charity Brain Tumour UK.
They are a
very worthy charity as unfortunately they do not receive corporate sponsorship
or celebrity endorsement like some of the more ‘fashionable’ charities. You can
find out more about the fantastic work they do
here.
This charity
is very close to my heart as both my dad and grandad died within 3 months of
each from Brain Tumours in the summer of 2002 when I was just 18.
Donating
through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe
with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you
donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid
is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most
efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs
for the charity.
So please dig deep and donate now to
raise money for a very worthy cause and please don't forget to tick the Gift
Aid box. I am conscious that many of you are bombarded with donation requests
throughout the year but any donations, however small, will genuinely be very
much appreciated.
Thanks for your support!
Hannah.
