Dear supporters,
My name is Hannah Cox and I will be volunteering in the Chiang Rai province of northern Thailand in September 2011 for three months.
I will be based in a school, assisting local teachers and helping with after-school activities for children from the hill tribes and local communities.
The aim of my project will be to help teach basic English, develop confidence in the children and run activities to make learning engaging and fun.
I will be volunteering for VESL (Volunteers for Educational Support and Learning), a small, not-for-profit UK charity (no.1117098) whose focus is on helping deprived, rural communities in Thailand, India and Sri Lanka. VESL send their volunteers on worthwhile projects with an emphasis on teaching and community-based programmes, where a real and tangible difference can be made to the host communities. The charity works in close partnership with government bodies to ensure volunteers are only sent where they are needed and wanted.
In order for me to fulfil this amazing project I need your help!
I am required to fundraise the cost of the project myself which is a total of £1,100.00. A big sum I know but with your support, I know I can make it.
So please donate to this truly worthwhile cause where your contribution, no matter how small, will have a big impact on the other side of the world to the lives of children who can look forward to a better future.
I really appreciate your support, don't forget to tick 'gift aid' with your donation and last but certainly not least, thank-you.
Hannah
