Story
30 members of Hannah Brine's online choir and some of the finest jazz players in the UK have recorded Love Is, an uplifting 70s inspired song. We had a lot of fun learning this piece, which premieres on Monday, June 21st at 8.30pm for the Summer Solstice.
We would like to celebrate the Launch of Love Is by raising money for a local charity, Elizabeth House.

Music really is a lifeline throughout the pandemic for so many. I am incredibly thankful to technology for allowing us to continue to make music together, and I hope many more enjoy listening to the choir's performance.”
Elizabeth House is a thriving, multi-purpose, community centre in the heart of a socially diverse neighbourhood in Islington. Highbury Vale Blackstock Trust is the resident-led charity that owns and manages the centre, with the aim of improving local residents’ quality of life, connecting people together and meeting the needs of some of the most vulnerable residents.
Elizabeth House Says:
"The pandemic and its fallout have had a substantial bearing on our community and our work. In March 2020, Elizabeth House re-purposed itself into a Food Hub and we have since provided food and welfare support to over 700 vulnerable people, living in Highbury, the Blackstock Road area, Finsbury Park and Drayton Park areas. With grant funding, food donations and support from over 100 volunteers, Elizabeth House has distributed over 3,500 food parcels, including more than 6,000 cooked meals, over the past 12 months.
Unfortunately, many local residents continue experience poverty and food insecurity and the Food Hub still supports an average of 170 local residents (approx. 70 households) on a weekly basis. Through community organising and a strengthened community outreach team, Elizabeth House is building on its crisis response work to focus on a more dignified, community-led and inclusive model of support, bringing lasting solutions to critical issues that worsened during the pandemic."
