CARE FORCE ONE
Hi, I want you to join me in CARE FORCE ONE and to ask for your help and support for the Caring Community - that is those who Care and the Cared for.
I am, let us say, over 65, but blessed with reasonable health, and I am setting a target of £2000 which I ask you to help me raise. I walk for a minimum of 10 minutes each day to keep myself fit and would like to reach a target of 500 miles, by Christmas, with your help. So go for a walk wherever and whenever you can - and with your donation note how many miles you covered we should hit 500 miles in no time! Or beyond...Just note beside your donation entry how far you walked - and watch the total grow. Thank you.
I am doing this because across the UK, 1 in 6 adults are providing unpaid care for a loved one. They could be your father, sister, best friend or the colleague you sit next to every day, this involves a supreme commitment towards a loved one.
Caring can mean giving up or accommodating a job around care requirements, or, in the case of younger Carers, fitting in schooling while looking after a disabled or sick parent. Caring is full time, emotionally draining, physically demanding, unrelenting and largely unthanked....until now.
During this period of turmoil when we are all on our guard against the Covid-19 virus, the role of Carers has become ever more difficult and vulnerable, as their lives and the lives of those they care for, are placed at risk due to social distancing, travel restrictions, shopping limits, job losses and other acute restraints on simply caring for someone...how do you provide care when you have no means of access to people who may need your help - may depend on your help - for medication, food, exercise, and just companionship?
Since the present pandemic crisis began, figures obtained by Carers UK has shown that : 55% of Carers feel overwhelmed : 70% of Carers are having to provide more or a higher level of care : 35% have become full time Carers because of a reduction in local social service provision.
By supporting me and my challenge in support of Carers UK, you will be supporting every unpaid Carer across the land, who will feel recognised, wanted, loved and appreciated - above all they will feel there is a CARING for CARERS organisation, funded by you, who will listen to them : give help, comfort and advice : give them a voice : be there for them.
THANK YOU AND PLEASE HELP CARE FORCE ONE TODAY!
