Story

In 2012 my Grandad, Geoff Haithwaite, passed away in Manorlands from lung cancer. 8 years later in 2020 my Grandma, Irene Whitham, passed away in Manorlands following a short battle with oesophagus cancer.

As devastating as this experience was, knowing that my grandparents were treated by such a wonderful group of carers, nurses and doctors, was a consolation.

The end of life care they received was incredible and they both were superbly looked after. I feel it's my duty to raise as much money as I can to help Sue Ryder Manorlands support other people in ill health and their families.

Sue Ryder supports people through the most difficult times of their lives. Whether thats a terminal illness, the loss of a loved one or a neurological condition they're there when it matters. Their doctors, nurses and carers give people the compassion and expert care they need to help them live the best life they possibly can.
