Story
Jeannie was diagnosed with cancer in the summer of 2016. One of her last wishes in Dec of that year was to recognise the Marie Curie Nursing Team in Penarth that helped Steph and I care for Jeannie at home. Without the support of our close friends and the incredible Nurses, we would never have managed to honour Mum’s wish which was to spend her final days in her home that she loved. Jeannie passed away in peace on December 17th 2016. The nurses provided phenomenal care to Jeannie, they were beyond amazing and we will be forever in their debt.
It’s remarkable to think we are now in our 8th year of fundraising. We even found our way through the pandemic and continued to fund raise. In Dec 21 we were able to re-launch the very event that Jeannie loved hosting with her best friend Angela - Market St Ladies Day. We have been overwhelmed with the support and the money raised year on year. We hosted the 2023 Remembering Jeannie for Marie Curie event on Dec 2nd and raised an incredible £3586 which brought our donation total to over £20k!!
We know Jeannie would be proud of how we’ve all pulled together for our earth angel Nurses at Holm Tower Penarth ❤️. Ladies, donators and supporters, thank you all so much!
Our fundraising journey continues so watch this space, once again thank you all
