Since the start of2015 more than 350,000 people have crossed the Mediterranean from Syria, Iraq,Afghanistan, Sudan and other countries faced with conflict and politicalinstability. Families are fleeing their homeland to pursue security andsurvival while the journeys themselves are life threatening.

Despite the perils,they remain determined to protect their children and their security. An estimated3,000 people have died in the Mediterranean so far this year attempting toreach safety.

The global refugeecrisis has occurred as a result of several humanitarian disasters and conflictsintertwining and worsening the quality of life of many communities around theworld. These communities now find themselves homeless, hopeless and alone.

Al-Khair Foundationis on the ground across Europe and surrounding areas supporting the plight ofthese refugees through providing medical aid, shelter, food aid, hygiene kits,clothing and other essential items.  An estimated 10,000 refugees pass through Macedonia each day and the Al-Khair Team are able to help around a thousand people daily.  The next batch of a dozen volunteers, including myself,  will be travelling to Macedonia on Sat 14 Nov 2015 and return on Sat 21 Nov 2015, God willing.

I am going on a Relief Convoy to Macedonia where I will be volunteering in andaround two of refugee checkpoint locations bordering Greece in the south and Serbia in the north. Activities will includewelcoming refugees, preparing and distributing food, providing tea and coffee, distributingclothes, giving route advice.  I will also have the opportunity to directly speak to the refugees and understand more about their situation and howpeople in the UK can help.  The funds that you will contribute will be used to providethe refugees with emergency aid including food, water, shelter and clothing.  Please donate whatever you can to help alleviate some of the suffering of the distressed refugees in harsh freezing conditions.

Update:  We have now returned from our trip to Macedonia. It was a successful mission by the Grace of God where we have learnt so much from the refugees, the volunteers and the facts on the ground. I will
